ISHEE EDGES RAMEY 1-UP TO CAPTURE MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP

HOUMA, LA – AUGUST 10-11, 2026: After two days of hot August temperatures, Nic Ishee, PGA of Metairie Country Club, won 1-up against Kyle Ramey, PGA of Hattiesburg Country Club, in the final round of the Gulf States PGA Match Play Championship at Ellendale Country Club. 

Ishee made his way to the finals after a semifinal match ending in a 4 & 2 victory against Reg Adams, PGA of Huntington Park Golf Course. Ramey had won 4 & 3 over Eric Voss, PGA of Old Waverly Golf Club. 

Ishee stated, “It’s always great when you get a win, especially in a match play format. It’s been a few years since my last win. Ellendale was in wonderful shape. Outside of maybe a few swings – I played steady and never got too low or too high. I look forward to defending next year.”

A full field of 64 players participated, with seeding based on the 2025 Rolex Player of the Year points. The first three rounds took place at an agreed-upon location by the two players of each match.
