With Chip’s passing, the Game of Golf lost a really great PGA professional and friend!
Less than 4 weeks ago he... hosted The Mackel Cup at Bayou Oaks where he welcomed every group to #1 tee, in spite of it being a bitterly cold, windy morning. He and Kari joined us that night at Acme Oyster House for the second round pairings party, an evening of fun, food and fellowship. A lasting memory for all of us!

Making the Game Better for 50+ Years
The Gulf States Section, Professional Golfers’ Association of America, is an association of golf professionals whose mission is to promote interest, participation, and enjoyment in the game of golf; establish and maintain professional standards of practice; and enhance the well-being of golf professionals.
Strategic Objectives:
- Establish a collegial and supportive environment among PGA Members, including:–Organized Competition

–Benefits - Encourage the use and employment of PGA Professionals by providing services to golfers and the golf industry.
- Enhance the skill levels of members and apprentices through education.
- Provide service to support National programs within the Section.
- Promote enjoyment and participation in the game by providing programs and services to golfers.

Louisiana Junior Golf Tour
OPEN TO JUNIORS OF ALL SKILL LEVELS, AGES 11-18
The mission of the LJGT is to create more playing opportunities for ALL junior golfers in Louisiana and to do so at an affordable rate.
PDR Requirements
Required for all Class A PGA Members
Total PDR per cycle = 54 Meeting/Education/Player Development/Professional Standards = 36
