Welcome & Details

Our 2023 Birdie Bash will be held at Deerfield Golf Club on Tuesday, October 10th, with the range opening at 7 am. At 7:30 we will introduce our Miracle Family and take photos, and then at 8 am, we’ll begin play in our 72-hole, 2-person scramble. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Please find a partner for your 2-person scramble team that’s an influencer with a broad social network, who can help you make more birdies, and bring pledges to the team! It can be whomever you choose. We’d recommend it be someone whose network reach is somewhat different from your own so as to maximize your fundraising ability.

We have deployed a new easy-to-use fundraising tool this year called PledgeIt. Please click the link above to register. Once registered, you can share your campaign page and begin fundraising for your team.

We have a unique opportunity to change people’s lives for the better through golf. In 2022, we were an early adopter of Jack & Barbara Nicklaus’s Play Yellow Birdie Bash and raised over $50,000. As tremendous as that effort was, we know we can do better. Our goal for 2023 is $100,000 and we need your help to do that.

Of special note is the addition of Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital to our list of beneficiaries. A pro rata share of the Children’s Miracle Network funds will be allocated to our Baton Rouge Children’s Hospital.

Today is a great day to get a start on notifying your network of your fundraising effort.

Thank you for your support and please don’t hesitate to contact rbrown@pgahq.com if you need any assistance.

Event Weather Cancellation Policy

In the event a Play Yellow Birdie Bash requires cancellation due to inclement weather or some force of nature affecting play, including but not limited to course flooding, wind damage, etc., the following rules will apply to pledges and donations.

  • PGA Section Birdie Bash teams are automatically assigned 25 birdies *
  • Individuals who made pledges will be notified of the cancellation within 48 hours of Birdie Bash being cancelled
  • Birdie pledges will be calculated based on a team’s total of 25 birdies
  • Collections will take place within 48 – 72 hours of the event’s cancellation

* Assigning 25 birdies to Birdie Bash teams effectively will generate a donation pool for the local children’s hospital and the PGA Section’s non-profit programs. The rule also keeps expenses in line with the original play date.
