Mandeville, LA: The Gulf States PGA Junior Championship took place at Beau Chene Country Club on Wednesday, June 8th-Thursday, June 9th. Ninety-nine players competed in the event.

Harper Anne Hinckley took the Girls 13-15 and Overall Girls Division with a score of 75-70—145! Liza Lapeyre claimed second place in the Overall Girls Division with a score of 75-73—148. Based on their first and second place finish, Harper Anne and Liza will be advancing to the 46th Girls Junior PGA Championship at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club on Tuesday, August 2nd – Friday, August 5th, 2022. Tied for third place for the Overall Girls Division were Gracie Bloom (83-67—150) and Sydney Moss (72-78—150). After a scorecard playoff, Gracie was determined the first alternate. Gracie & Sydney also tied for second in the Girls 16-18 Division. Liza Lapeyre came in first.

John Markow took the Boys 13-15 and Overall Boys Division with a score of 73-70—143! Caden Lester came in second with 72-72—144. Both John and Caden will be representing the Gulf States PGA at the 46th Boys Junior PGA Championship at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club on Tuesday, August 2nd – Friday, August 5th, 2022. Andrew Zielinski (74-71—145) came in third for the Overall Boys Division, followed by Preston Paulk (76-74—150).

In the Girls 13-15 Division, Vivian Volion took second place with a score of 79-77—156. Lucy Cook (81-79—160) and Mattie Purgahn (80-80—160) tied for third, which Mattie won after a scorecard playoff.

Grayson Davis took second in the Boys 13-15 Division with a score of 75-76—151, quickly followed by Ashton Cruse (75-77—152) in third place.

Caden Lester, Andrew Zielinski and Preston Paulk placed first, second, and third respectively in the Boys 16-18 Division.

Reed Winkler won the Boys 12 & Under Division with an eighteen-hole score of 31-33—64. Augustin Gros placed second with a score of 36-35—71. James Grimes III (35-39—74), Parker Greene (36-38—74), and Henry Coker (35-39—74) had a 3-way tie for third place. Parker won after a scorecard playoff.

Maci Williams won the Girls 12 & Under Division with an eighteen-hole score of 34-35—69, followed by Kaylee Gatlin with a score of 41-34—75. Kaitlyn Burnett (39-38—77) placed third.
