Covington, LA: The E-Z-GO Oliver Counce Six-Pro Championship was held on Monday, December 4th at Tchefuncta Country Club. The field was comprised of nineteen teams. Congratulations to Team Brian Williams, PGA, Blaine Patin, PGA, Jake Narro, PGA, Gamon Manne, PGA, Rantz Bourgeois, and Todd Grassi, PGA, with a winning score of twenty under, 51!
Coming in tied second on a score of nineteen under was team Joseph Hanko, PGA, Matt Brunetz, PGA, Reed Hughs, PGA, Dylan Cash, Benji Williams, PGA, and Kyle Ellis, as well as team Nick Ellison, PGA, Bill Baker, PGA, Kason Davis, Clay Weems, PGA, Mark Powell, PGA, and James Moore, PGA.
Jake Narro commented, “Gamon Manne putted first all day and made a ton of putts. I was the anchor for putting and never hit a putt all day”. He later commented, “The course played great as it really absorbed the rain very well. We had lots of fun, great food, and can’t wait to defend the title next year”.
The Gulf States PGA would like to thank Ben Nelson, PGA, Benji Nelson, Seth King, PGA, and Jake Owen of E-Z-GO and Ben Nelson Golf and Outdoor, as well as Todd Grassi, PGA and Brooke Guyton of Travis Mathew, Brian Yount of Mobile Pro Shop, and finally, Jon Jacey and Max Lerner of Evolve Golf, for their continued support of our Section and this event. The Section would also like to thank all the staff at Tchefuncta Country Club including PGA Director of Golf, Dustin Baker, PGA food and beverage Director, Matt Campagne, and Head Golf Course Superintendent, Dustin Fowler. Finally, the Section would like to thank Mickey Bradley, PGA and the rest of the Kooking Krewe for providing the food for the event.
This concludes the Gulf States PGA 2023 tournament season. The Section would like to thank all PGA Professionals and sponsors for a successful year! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Gulf States PGA. We look forward to another great year in 2024.
