Gulfport, MS: The Gulf States PGA Jani-King Pro-Am was hosted at Windance Country Club on Monday, February 13, 2023. The field consisted of 22, 4-person teams in a shamble format with low gross/low net scoring (1 PGA Professional & 3 Amateurs).

Team Champions included PGA Professional Gavin Vegas of Money Hill Golf and Country Club, and Amateurs Brent Gremillion, Phil Latapie, and John Casassa with a score of 21 under par. Coming in second place was Team Powell with 18 under par.

Congratulations to Kyle Ramey, PGA of Canebrake Country Club for winning the Low PGA Professional with 4 under par, 68.

In a post-round interview, Gavin noted, “We had our Senior Club Champion, a couple long hitters, and some really good putters. So we picked a pretty good team. Some club throwing and some good shots. The course was great, not as wet as what we’ve been playing in the area recently, and it was a beautiful day!”

The Gulf States PGA would like to thank Jani-King including Mike Biggs, Chance Enmon, JJ O’Neil, Jason Lambert, and Al Hebert. We would also like to thank Michelle Khan of Slidebelts for their continued support of this event. Finally, special thanks to the entire staff at Windance Country Club including PGA Head Golf Professional, Rory Nelson, and Golf Course Superintendent, Gavin Bauer, and the entire staff and membership.

Our next event, the first round of the Gulf States PGA Match Play Championship, will take place from February 27 to May 1. We wish you all the best of luck!
