The 2020 Mackel Cup was held on Sunday, January 26th and Monday, January 27th at Bayou Oaks at City Park South Course. This event is a tribute to the late PGA Professional Frank Mackel. In a Ryder Cup format, point leaders from the Mississippi Chapter PGA and Louisiana Chapter PGA compete for the honor of holding the Mackel Cup.

Round 1 Four-Ball matches were played at Bayou Oaks at City Park South Course but was cut short to 9 holes because of weather. Round 2 Singles matches were also played at Bayou Oaks at City Park South Course. One point was awarded for winning each nine as well as the top overall score, with a possible total of three points per day per match.

Team members from the Louisiana Chapter PGA included, Emlyn Aubrey, Drew Goff, Gavin Vegas, Allan Martel, Clay Weems, Justin Mann, Bradley Petashnick Robert Flanagan, J.T. Crawford, Reg Adams, Robert Murphy, Wayne Fuselier, Alex Abbruzza, and Matt Williamson.

Team members from the Mississippi Chapter PGA included Team Captain Matt Brunetz, Olly Thomson, Marvin Gray, Kyle Ramey, Rory Nelson, Qunicy Morrison, Joseph Hanko, Zach Tate, David Lee, David Meyer, Benji Williams, Adam Scott, Nathan Kitson, and Theodore Reshew.

Team Louisiana held a one-point lead (4-3) heading into the final day at Bayou Oaks South Course. For the sixth year in a row, Team Louisiana claimed the Mackel Cup with a 27 – 22 point victory over Team Mississippi!
