Casa De Campo: The 5th Annual Caribbean Pro-Am Championship took place at the Teeth of the Dog and Dye Fore courses from January 5-7th, 2023. The field consisted of 6, 4-person teams in a Low Gross/Low Net scoring format (a PGA Professional & 3 Amateurs).

Team Jon Howell (p), Benji Nelson (a), Doug Hederman (a), and Will Walker (a) took first place with a three-round score of 32-under. This was their first time participating in the Caribbean Pro-Am, now in its 5th year.

Jon commented later, “We weren’t really focused so much on the competition, we were just having a good time. And we made some birdies, so it was fun.” Benji added, “The staff has been phenomenal and everyone has been so nice. Making a couple of birdies was overachievement for me.”

The Gulf States PGA Section would like to thank our sponsor for this event, Mark Danton of Signs by the Sea. The Section also wishes to thank all of the Casa de Campo staff.

Our next tournament is The Mackel Cup on January 15-16, 2023, at Bayou Oaks at City Park and Metairie Country Club. Best of luck to the Mississippi and Louisiana teams!
