New Orleans, LA: The GSPGA Pro-Am presented by Jani-King was hosted at Bayou Oaks Golf Course on Monday, February 21. The field consisted of 22, 4-person teams in a Low Gross/Low Net scoring format (a PGA Professional & 3 Amateurs).

Team Champions included PGA Professional Wayne Fuselier (New Orleans) and Amateurs James Fuselier, Duane Leier, and Martin Crawford with a score of 29 under par. Coming in second place was Team Goff with 25 under par.

Congratulations to Wayne Fuselier, PGA for also winning the Low PGA Professional with 8 under par, 64.

In a post-round interview, Wayne said, “One of my team partners was my son, so it was a great chance to spend the day with him and another good friend of mine, Martin Crawford, and a guy that’s been a good friend of mine also for a long time, Duane Leier. Very relaxing day being out there with those guys. Just one of those days where things went our way. If we needed the ball to bounce to the left, it bounced left. So, when it all comes together like that, hopefully you shoot good scores, and that’s what happened today.”

The Gulf States PGA would like to thank Mike Biggs, Chance Enmon, JJ O’Neil, and William Simms of Jani-King. Special thanks to the entire staff at Bayou Oaks at City Park including PGA General Manager, Matt Williamson, PGA Head Golf Professional, Will Heirtzler, Golf Course Superintendent, Ryan McCavvit, and Director of Food & Beverage, Tony Frederick as well as the entire staff and membership.

Our next event, the first round of the GSPGA Match Play Championship, will take place from February 28 to April 25. We wish you all the best of luck!
