MANDEVILLE, LA: The 2023 Gulf States PGA Jr. League Section Championship was held at Beau Chene Country Club on August 12, 2023.

The PGA Jr. League Championship Season presented by National Car Rental is designed to celebrate the recreational spring/summer season held in March through July, as well as provide a fun and welcoming environment for the 19 percent of PGA Jr. League players who identify as competitive golfers. Following the regular season, 8-player All-Star teams were formed from a combination of players in each local league. The Section Championship was the first of three phases in the National Car Rental PGA Jr. League Championship Season.

The Section Championship was 18-holes, stroke play, counting the best 3 out of 4 scores on each team for each nine holes. Team David Toms Academy won with a team score of 218. The NOLA North All-Stars came next, with a final score of 222.

Team David Toms Academy will advance to the Regional at Lakewood Club in Fairhope, AL September 8-10, where they will play for a spot in the 2023 PGA Jr. League Championship presented by National Car Rental at the National Championship at Fields Ranch West at PGA Frisco October 4-8, 2023.

Championship Division Team Scores:

  • 1st – David Toms Academy: 218
  • 2nd – NOLA North All Stars: 222
  • 3rd – Gators South: 231
  • T4th – Central MS All Stars: 241
  • T4th – Lake Charles All Stars: 241
  • 6th – Bayou CC All Stars: 260

There was also a 9 hole “Pizza Division”. These teams also counted the best 3 out of 4 scores on each team. The Baton Rouge Bengals won with a team score of 114.

  • 1st – BR Bengals: 114
  • 2nd – Northshore Storm: 130
  • 3rd – Northshore Thunder: 138
  • 4th – Gulf Coast Gators: 145
  • 5th – NOLA South Wave: 152
