Reg Adams, PGA, of Shreveport, LA, defeated (2 UP) Jon Howell, PGA, of Annandale Golf Club to take the GSPGA Match Play Championship. The final match was back and forth all day. Adams took the final lead on the 17th at Deerfield Golf Club with a par. Winning the 18th took Adams to win the title.

The Semifinals & Finals of the GSPGA Match Play Championship were held at Deerfield Golf Club on Monday, October 14th. David Marchand, PGA, lost the Semi-Final Match to the overall champion, Reg Adams. Jon Howell, PGA made his way to the final match due to Allan Martel, PGA, conceding due to a personal conflict.

Adams stated, “It was a long day playing two matches. In the first match against David Marchand, PGA, I was two up on the first nine. Soon to follow, David came back and took the lead on me. I knew then that I needed to make some solid shots to have a chance to make it to the finals. ” Reg Adams, PGA, then eagled the 19th hole to take the Semi-Final match.

A full field of 64 players participated with seeding based on 2024 Rolex Player of the Year points. The first four rounds took place at the participants’ choice course.
