West Point, MS: Despite a hot and humid two days on July 31st-August 1st, the Gulf States PGA Professional Championship held at Old Waverly Golf Club was a success! 38 professionals signed up to compete for 3 qualifying and 3 alternate spots at the 2024 PGA Professional Championship presented by Cadillac, Club Car, Rolex, & Corebridge Financial. It will be played at Fields Ranch at PGA Frisco (East & West Course) on April 28 – May 1, 2024 in Frisco, TX.

After making a birdie in the first playoff hole on Tuesday, Kyle Ramey, PGA from Canebrake Country Club, (70-73–143) came in first with one-under par. Jake Narro, PGA from Oak Knoll Country Club, (69-74–143) came in second. Jon Howell, PGA from Annandale Golf Club, (70-74–144) took home third place after a playoff with Joseph Hanko, PGA.

Hanko, from Elm Lake Golf Course, (76-68–144) earned the first-place alternate spot. Emlyn Aubrey, PGA from The Golf Club at Stonebridge (73-73–146) took second-place alternate, and Benji Williams, PGA from Lion Hills Golf Course, (76-72–148) took the third alternate spot.

Following his play Kyle noted, “The golf course was phenomenal both days, it was in great shape. It was set up tough, it was a challenge for sure. I struggled on the greens and missed quite a few makeable putts. We went back and forth in our group, taking turns with the lead. It was close all the way down to the very end.”

We would like to thank PGA Director of Golf, Greg Flannagan, Golf Course Superintendent, Zak Holloway, and the entire staff at Old Waverly Golf Club for allowing us to host this event. Special thanks to our national sponsors including Cadillac, Club Car, Rolex, and Corebridge Financial. Also thank you to Jim Caldwell & Brooks Baldwin of Ladds and John Viator of Golf Cars of LA.
