Madison, MS: The 11th Annual Gulf States PGA Yamaha 3-Pro named its champions for 2024 at Whisper Lake Country Club on Monday, May 6th. Kyle Ramey (Canebrake Country Club), Allan Martel (Grand Bear Golf Course), and Brad Thornton (Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College) took the honors with a score of 15-under, 49. Jacob Ross (The Country Club of Jackson), Ronny Ross (Clear Creek Golf Course), Joseph Dendy (Clear Creek Golf Course), Dustin Baker (Tchefuncta Country Club), Colton Ryan (Tchefuncta Country Club), Kevin Landry (Webb Memorial Golf Course), David Marchand (Metairie Country Club), Jake Narro (Oak Knoll Country Club), and Reed Hughes, PGA Senatobia, MS all tied for second place 14-under, 50. The field consisted of 15 teams.
The 18-hole event concluded with a 6-hole 3-person scramble sponsored by Yamaha showcasing the par-3 course, “The Loop”, at Whisper Lake Country Club. Chris Jester, Colton Dunaway, and Drew Belt won the shootout with 2-under.
Kyle Ramey later remarked, “We all added in at different times. If someone was struggling, the other person would step up to help the team.” Martel added, “The course was perfect. It was a little bit windy, but it was a lot of fun for this format.”
