Alexandria, LA: The Louisiana Chapter Championship was held at OakWing Golf Club. The contest included a Chapter Championship and Senior Chapter Championship with a total field of 31 players.
Kyle Ramey, PGA (Canebrake Golf and Country Club) was crowned the Louisiana Chapter Champion with a final score of 69-71–140. Emlyn Aubrey, PGA (Centenary College) won the Senior Division with 72–73—145.
Continuing with tradition, only a member of the respective chapter in which the championship is taking place can receive the trophy and title of champion.
When Emlyn was asked about his play, he responded, “I think I made 1 double yesterday and 3 bogeys for 36 holes so I hit it very well. I’m looking forward to playing in more of these tournaments. That’s the thing that I really did miss. Seeing a lot of my old friends and just getting to catch up with them is more priceless than this trophy.”
The Gulf States PGA would like to thank title sponsors John Viator, Paul Leslie, PGA, Kevin Byrd, & Bill Burke of Golf Cars of Louisiana and Club Car. We would also like to thank Ian Crick, PGA of StrackaLine, Tom Eubank of Golf Sign & Design, Alvin Newell of Maui Jim, and the PGA Tour. Finally, the Gulf States wishes to thank General Manager Brady Noland, PGA, Robbie Gueringer, PGA, Golf Course Superintendent, Donald Jones, and the entire staff and membership at OakWing Golf Club for their assistance in making this event possible.
