The E-Z-GO Oliver Counce Six-Pro Championship was held on Monday, December 7th at Metairie Country Club, LA. The field was comprised of fifteen teams. Congratulations to Team Mike Raby, Jack Terry, Mike Johnson, Henry Pointer, B.J. Taillon, and Carl Poche’ on winning the 2020 E-Z-GO Oliver Counce Six Pro Championship in a scorecard playoff with sixteen under, 56!

Team Matt Brunetz, Kyle Sisk, Derek Benson, Kyle Ellis, Quincy Morrison, and Ben Hutchison as well as Team Todd Grassi, Blaine Patin, Noah Miller, Drew Goff, Rory Nelson, and Allan Martel scored sixteen under. The tie was broken with Team Raby’s nine under on the back nine compared to Team Brunetz and Team Grassi’s eight under.

In a post-tournament interview Mike Raby commented, “We were really surprised to come to the scoreboard and find out that we were not only in contention, but in position to win. This is a tournament with six players where your expectation is to try to birdie every hole, and you are thinking you have to get close to eighteen under to have a chance. We started out with a birdie and then parred our second and third holes. Through three holes we were only one under par. At that point we were just trying to make enough birdies to post a respectable score.”

The Gulf States PGA would like to thank Ben and Benji Nelson, Seth King, PGA, and Michelle Larson of E-Z-GO and Ben Nelson Golf and Outdoor as well as Todd Grassi, PGA and Pete Mroz of Travis Mathew, Brian Yount, Mark Wigley, and Stacy Quilling of Mobile Pro Shop, and Sam McCarroll of Dynamic Brands for their continued support of our Section and this event.
