Marksville, LA: Last year, the Louisiana and Mississippi PGA elected to play their Chapter Championships together for the first time in recent history. Carrying on the tradition this year, Tamahka Trails Golf Club played host to both events. The contests included Chapter Championships and Senior Chapter Championships with players allowed to compete for purses in both chapters.

Ladds, Golf Cars of Louisiana, Club Car, and the PGA TOUR partnered to support the event.

Jake Narro, PGA from Southeastern Louisiana University, (69-72–141) was crowned Champion of the Louisiana PGA. Kyle Ramey, PGA from Canebrake Country Club, won his third consecutive Mississippi Chapter Championship.

Emlyn Aubrey, PGA from The Golf Club at StoneBridge, (66-71–137) was crowned Louisiana Senior Champion, and Reed Hughes, PGA from Senatobia, MS, was crowned Mississippi Senior Champion.

When Jake Narro was asked about his play, he responded, “I did have some highs and some lows. I made 3 birdies on the last 5 holes coming in, after I made a triple bogey. So that was nice to do.”

In response to how he found the golf course during play, Emlyn Aubrey stated, “Good solid golf course. You’ve got to know where to put it on the greens especially. The greens were firm and fast, so it was fun.”

The Gulf States PGA would like to thank title sponsors Jim Caldwell & Brooks Baldwin of Ladds, John Viator & Rick Forbis of Golf Cars of LA, Club Car and the PGA Tour. Finally, the Gulf States Section wishes to thank PGA General Manager Kevin Michael, Golf Course Superintendent Joel Washburn and the entire staff and membership at Tamahka Trails Golf Club for their assistance in making this event possible.

We look forward to seeing you at our next event, the Gulf States PGA Junior Championship at OakWing Golf Club on June 8-9, 2021.
