MISSISSIPPI TEAM CLAIMS BACK-TO-BACK MACKEL CUP VICTORIES
NEW ORLEANS, LA — The Mississippi Chapter emerged victorious once again, claiming a back-to-back win at the 2025 Mackel Cup, held Sunday, February 16, and Monday, February 17. This spirited competition, played in honor of the late PGA Professional Frank Mackel, featured a Ryder Cup-style showdown between the top point earners from the Mississippi and Louisiana Chapters.
Four-Ball matches opened at Bayou Oaks at City Park – South Course, where Mississippi established a commanding lead. The competition concluded with Singles matches at the prestigious New Orleans Country Club, with Mississippi sealing the win dominantly, finishing with a final score of 37–26.
The Mackel Cup awards one point for each nine won and one for the overall match result, offering up to three points per match per day, creating a format that rewards both consistency and clutch play.
