Madison, MS: The 8th Annual Gulf States PGA Sun Mountain/Yamaha 3-Pro named its Champions for 2021 at Whisper Lake Country Club in Madison, MS on Monday, May 10th. Robbie Gueringer, PGA (OakWing GC), Matt Brunetz, PGA (Whisper Lake CC), and Reg Adams, PGA (Huntington Park GC) took the honors with a score of -14 (50).  Their score bested a field of 12 teams.

The 18-hole event concluded with a separate “9-hole addon” competition pitting 6-man scramble teams in a match play, sudden death format.  In response to his thoughts on the new horse race style, Matt Brunetz answered, “It was interesting, and at that last point when we had 18 balls on the green, it looked a little different, but it was fun. It was a good format, I think it was a really good edition to this event, and I look forward to keeping it in the future.”  The winning team included: Marie Gateley, Bobby Flanagan, Dustin Diez, Fred Schroeder, Dean Baham, and Ronny Ross.

The Gulf States PGA would like to thank title sponsors Craig Gibson of Sun Mountain, Jeff Jungers and Shannon Caverly, PGA of Yamaha, and Matt Pollitt and Lauren Berard of PTE Golf. Finally, the Gulf States Section wishes to thank Matt Brunetz, PGA, Kyle Sisk (GM), and Carl Williams (Supt), and the entire staff and membership at Whisper Lake Country Club for their assistance in making this event possible.
