CHOUDRANT, LA: Despite a hot and humid two days on July 29th-July 30th, the Gulf States PGA Professional Championship held at Squire Creek Country Club was a success! 39 professionals signed up to compete for 3 qualifying and 3 alternate spots at the 2024 PGA Professional Championship presented by Club Car, Rolex, & Corebridge Financial. It will be played at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, FL on April 27 – 30th 2025.
After a sunny two days at Squire Creek, Drew Goff, PGA from Audubon Park Golf Course, (73-70–143) came in first with one-under par. Blake Hatfield, PGA from Old Waverly Golf Club, (69-75–144) came in second. Jake Narro, PGA from Oak Knoll Country Club, (70-54–145) took home third place. Reg Adams, from Huntington Park Golf Course, (72-74–146) earned the first-place alternate spot. Jacob Ross, PGA from Jackson Country Club (70-76–146) took second-place alternate, and Kyle Ramey, PGA from Canebrake Country Club, (77-69–146) took the third alternate spot.
Following his play Drew noted, “The course dried out really well from the practice rounds and the conditions were really good” He continued, “my game was a little scrappy out there today but I still managed to find a few good shots. I birdied 10 both days which in the past, that hole has given me trouble”.
