Choudrant, LA: The Louisiana Chapter Championship was held at Squire Creek Country Club. The contest included a Chapter Championship and Senior Chapter Championship with a total field of 29 players.

After a 4-hole playoff against Jake Narro, Nick Ellison, PGA (Bayou De Siard Country Club) was crowned the Louisiana Chapter Champion with a final score of 74-71—145. Jake Narro, PGA (Oak Knoll Country Club) won the Senior Division with 71-74—145. Justin Hyman (Squire Creek Country Club) was the low pro with a final score of 74-70—144.

Rob Murphy, PGA and Greg Sonnier, PGA tied for first with Justin Hyman and Drew Goff, PGA for the round two High-Low Pro-Pro.

When Nick Ellison was asked about his play, he responded, “Yesterday, I just tried to keep the ball in front of me and hit the ball well. I left a couple of putts short, didn’t really do anything to get into much trouble. So, it was good to come out and just have a good solid round.”

Justin Hyman also added on, “After yesterday, I was 3 shots behind going into today, so I wanted to make sure that I played aggressive and tried to make some birdies, and luckily I did get that done.”

The Gulf States PGA would like to thank title sponsors John Viator & Paul Leslie, PGA of Golf Cars of LA and Club Car, Cimarron Grubb of Turtleson, and the PGA Tour. Finally, the Gulf States Section wishes to thank Host PGA Professional, Robert Smith and Golf Course Superintendent Andy Boughner as well as the entire staff and membership at Squire Creek Country Club for their assistance in making this event possible.
