The 2020 MS PGA Trustmark Invitational was held at Reunion Golf & Country Club in Madison, MS on July 17 – 19. The tournament field consisted of 120 players with the state’s top PGA Professionals and Amateurs.

Kyle Ellis (p), of Oxford, MS, fired rounds of 67-72-65 for a three-day total of twelve-under par, 204, to claim the 2020 MS PGA Trustmark Invitational. Ellis’ final round included seven birdies, and he had to make a birdie on his final hole of the championship to force a playoff with Trey Denton (a) of Madison, MS.

Ellis said, “Thanks to Trustmark Bank and Gulf States PGA for their continued support of golf in Mississippi as well as Reunion Golf and Country Club and their staff for hosting a great event once again. The golf course was in fantastic shape and I enjoyed the challenge of competitive golf. I am excited to defend next year at Dancing Rabbit Golf Club!”

Ellis is the first PGA Professional since 2011 to win the Overall Championship. Ellis is the Director of Instruction at The Country Club of Oxford. Kyle Ellis, shot a first round of five-under par, 67, and was awarded the William E. Sonny Lawson Cup, which is given to the round one Low PGA Professional. Ellis also claimed the Low PGA Professional.

Trey Denton (a), of Madison, MS, claimed the Low Amateur firing rounds of 68, 72, 64, for a three-day total of twelve-under par, 204. Denton’s final round included an eagle, seven birdies, and just one bogey to win by one over Joe Deraney (a), of Belden, MS.

Brother Sandifer (a), of Greenville, MS, took home the title of Super Senior Champion with scores of 73, 71, 70, for a three-day total of two-under par, 214.
