Alexandria, LA: The Louisiana Chapter Championship was held at OakWing Golf Club. The contest included a Chapter Championship and Senior Chapter Championship with a total field of 24 players.
Matt Berry, PGA (False River Golf and Country Club) was crowned the Louisiana Chapter Champion with a final score of 71-71–142. Jake Narro, PGA (Oak Knoll Country Club) won the Senior Division with 72-71—143. Kyle Ramey, PGA (Canebrake Country Club) was the low pro with a final score of 70-68–138.
Continuing with tradition, only a member of the respective chapter in which the championship is taking place can receive the trophy and title of champion.
When Matt Berry was asked about his play, he responded, “I think I made 1 double yesterday and 3 bogeys for 36 holes so I hit it very well. I’m looking forward to playing in more of these tournaments. That’s the thing that I really did miss. Seeing a lot of my old friends and just getting to catch up with them is more priceless than this trophy.”
The Louisiana Chapter PGA is also happy to announce a new term of officers. Matt Williamson, PGA was elected as President, followed by Marie Gateley, PGA as Vice President, and Gavin Vegas, PGA as Secretary.
