Houma, LA: The team of Reg Adams, PGA/Emlyn Aubrey, PGA has earned the honor of being crowned the 2022 ANTIGUA/Lorente/Yamaha Pro-Pro Champions with a team score of nine-under, 63. This year’s Gulf States Section event was held at Ellendale Country Club on Monday, April 25th.
Thirty-nine players gathered on a picture-perfect day for golf, forming 40 teams. There was a two-way tie for third place between the teams of Matt Brunetz, PGA/Joseph Hanko, PGA and Reg Adams, PGA/Joseph Hanko, PGA with scores of seven-under, 65. The team of Robbie Gueringer, PGA/Blaine Patin, PGA placed second with a score of eight-under, 64.
Emlyn Aubrey, PGA was the low-Pro winner with a score of six-under, 66.
Emlyn later commented, “Reg and I were the perfect 4-ball team today. When somebody was in trouble, the other one took up, and we made one team bogie, so that was unfortunate, but other than that, the other 17 holes we took up for each other…so it worked out good.”
The Gulf States PGA wishes to thank the event sponsors, Dan & Kitty Peoples of ANTIGUA, Angela Lorente of Lorente Golf, and Jeff Jungers & Shannon Caverly, PGA of Yamaha. We would also like to thank Kelly Welsh, PGA of Oakley for the closest to the hole prizes.
The Section also wishes to thank the entire staff at Ellendale Country Club including Devin Thomas, PGA General Manager, Greg Crain, PGA Head Golf Professional, and Stacey Hudson, Head Golf Course Superintendent.
We look forward to seeing you at our next tournament, the Sun Mountain/Yamaha Three-Pro Championship on Monday, May 9th at Timberton Golf Club.
