Flowood, MS: The Gulf States PGA Pro-Am presented by Jani-King was hosted at The Refuge Golf Course on Tuesday, October 25th. The field consisted of 13, 4-person teams in a Low Gross/Low Net scoring format (a PGA Professional & 3 Amateurs).

Team Champions included PGA Professional Leigh Brannan of Canton, MS, and Amateurs Grady Griffin, Scott Rhodes, and Dave Clements with a score of 22 under par. Tied for second place were Team Goff and Team Hatfield with 21 under par.

Congratulations to Drew Goff, PGA for also winning the Low PGA Professional with 4 under par, 68.

In a post-round interview, Leigh said, “I picked good friends. My next door neighbor, Dave Clements used to work for me, and Scott Rhodes is the best amateur scramble player I know. So, we had a good team. We played great, sporadic. We had some really good eagles, lots of birdies, we made a bogie, missed a 3-footer, and missed some short putts coming in, thought we’d blown the tournament, but it worked out.”

The Gulf States PGA would like to thank Jani-King including Mike Biggs, Chance Enmon, JJ O’Neil, and Al Hebert. Also Michelle Khan of Slidebelts and Kelly Welsh of Oakley for the closest to the hole prizes and for their continued support of this event. Special thanks to PGA Head Golf Professional, Blake Hatfield, Food & Beverage Staff, Carrie Kent & Rainee Scott, Golf Course Superintendent, Andy Burrow, and the entire staff and membership here at The Refuge Golf Course.

Our next event, the PING/Sterling Cut Glass Pro-Scratch, will take place on November 7th at Squire Creek Country Club. We hope to see you there!
