Kyle Ramey Wins the Stroke Play Series in Lafayette

METAIRIE, La. – Kyle Ramey of Gulfport, Ms. won the Gulf States PGA Stroke Play Series Event  by three strokes shooting 5-under 67.  The tournament was held at Les Vieux Chenes in Broussard, La on March 10th, 2014. The event was originally scheduled for February, but poor weather conditions caused a postponement.

“Pretty solid round,” said Ramey about his play today.  “I putted well today, especially on the front nine. I gave myself plenty of chances.”

Although preferred lies were in effect, the players were welcomed by warm, sunny conditions.

Ramey carded six birdies and one bogey in his round, including three in a row on holes 4-6. His only bogey came on the difficult par 3 12th.

“I really enjoyed playing out here today,” said Ramey about his first trip to Les Vieux Chenes.

Baton Rouge Country Club’s Aaron O’Callahan finished in second with a 4-under 68, while David Daly, also of Baton Rouge Country Club, finished third with 3-under 69.

The Gulf States PGA Section wishes to thank Section President Todd Robertson and his staff at Les Vieux Chenes for their efforts and hard work in running a successful event.
